Learning Platforms

Our school combines in-person support with dynamic digital learning. Because we operate on a rolling enrollment model, students attend school in our building while completing the bulk of their coursework online through dedicated computer workstations. This hybrid structure gives students the benefit of direct, face-to-face support from certified teachers alongside the flexibility of self-paced learning.

We utilize three primary digital learning platforms:

  • Edgenuity: Our primary platform for core high school curriculum, credit recovery, and foundational courses, featuring video instruction, practice exercises, and built-in assessments.

  • Apex Learning: Used for specialized coursework, credit recovery, and targeted instruction designed to help students master critical concepts.

  • Canvas LMS: Home to our school's custom-built courses, teacher-led projects, assignment submissions, and direct communication between teachers, students, and parents.

How On-Site Online Learning Works

To get the most out of our model, students combine structured on-campus time with steady digital progress:

  1. In-Building Environment: Students work at their assigned computer stations during the school day. Certified teachers and staff are present in every room to provide immediate 1-to-1 assistance, answer questions, and grade open-ended work.

  2. Flexible Pacing: Because enrollment is rolling, students aren't tied to a traditional whole-class lecture schedule. They advance as soon as they master the material or take extra time on concepts that need deeper focus.

  3. Daily Expectation: Students are expected to make steady, measurable progress in each active subject during their daily scheduled hours on campus.

  4. Targeted Support: If a student gets stuck on a concept, they can raise their hand or request a small-group check-in with a teacher on site for hands-on coaching.

Tips for Student Success

  • Use Your On-Site Time Wisely: Treat every hour at your school workstation as focused work time so you can complete your targets during school hours.

  • Ask for Help Right Away: Take advantage of having certified teachers in the room—don't hesitate to ask for help the moment you get stuck on a module or assignment.

  • Take Detailed Notes: Jotting down key concepts during digital lessons helps significantly on quizzes, unit tests, and cumulative exams.

  • Track Your Targets: Use the built-in progress bars and pacing guides in Edgenuity, Apex, and Canvas to know exactly where you stand each day.

Parent Resources & Support

Parents play a vital role in keeping students on track toward graduation.

  • Monitoring Progress from Home: While coursework is completed at school, parents can log into parent/observer accounts in Canvas, check weekly progress reports from Edgenuity, and check Parent Portal at any time to monitor attendance, current grades, and daily course progress.
