Gateway's Mission, Vision and Purpose

Gateway Academy serves students in grades 6–12, providing a supportive and structured environment where every learner has the opportunity to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The program is designed to help students refocus, rebuild confidence, and prepare for a successful transition back to their base school or other educational pathways.

Students are referred to Gateway Academy through the Forsyth County Schools tribunal process, where individualized support plans are developed to address both academic and behavioral goals. Each student attends Gateway for a specific period of time, working toward the successful completion of their program and demonstrating readiness to return to a traditional school setting or pursue new opportunities.

Gateway Academy is, above all, a place for learning and renewal. Our program emphasizes core academic instruction in math, English language arts, science, and social studies, delivered through a blend of online learning and direct teacher support. Certified teachers provide strong, engaging instruction tailored to student needs, and services are available to support students with special education plans as well.

Enrollment at Gateway includes clear expectations that promote accountability, structure, and personal growth. Students commit to a school uniform, consistent attendance, and participation in a positive behavioral plan that encourages responsibility and respect. These expectations create a safe and focused learning environment where students can thrive academically and personally.

At Gateway Academy, we believe every student has the ability to “CREATE your story.” Our mission is to help each learner write a new chapter of success through perseverance, reflection, and achievement.
